Team Guidelines
Central Michigan Soccer Association Phoenix Soccer and the Central Michigan Soccer Association have high expectations for the conduct and demeanor of its players. Players should be 30 minutes early for every game. Players will be expected to make every game unless prior clearance to miss a game is granted by the head coach (Gregory Brasic). Players will be expected to show outstanding sportsmanship to our competition, and to be supportive teammates to each other at all times. We wish all players to play with everything they have, to do their best to follow instructions, and to attend every scheduled practice if possible. We fully expect this season to be a great experience for every one of our members. If you have questions concerning the rules, bylaws, or field locations for this seasons games you can click on the CMSA logo to the left and go to the CMSA website.

Coaching philosophy
This team will be coached using elements of the USSF / MSYSA protocols. Practices will be focused at first on Technique with some emphasis on Tactics.

Practices will be game oriented with as many game related activities as we can schedule, plus a Match-like competition for the last 30 minutes of each practice.

I will always attempt to treat every member of the team and staff with respect even if corrective measures are required.

This team shall have defined goals for players, staff and for the team as a whole.

I will communicate frequently with each player, parent, and team staff member about concerns, ideas, and progress towards goals.

I will provide up to date financial and scheduling information on the team website at www.brasic.com (Click Soccer Button).

I will discourage yelling at our players during game time except for words of encouragement. These players are reaching an age where coaching should primarily be done at practice and during game breaks. Please do not coach them from the sidelines as this will be confusing to the players. Any questions or concerns about strategy will be welcomed and answered at team practices.

I will discourage yelling at the Referees or other teams players or staffs. We want to be good ambassadors of Jackson County. Our goal is to be welcome competition even if we consistently win in the CMSA league.

I will discourage any negativity by our players towards their teammates, our staff, or themselves. Part of becoming an athlete is learning the discipline to deal with disappointment, frustration, and hardship as much as dealing with success and the joy of playing the game.

I will encourage the players to perform at the highest level they can, to play with competitiveness always, and to desire constant improvement in their skills.

I will encourage all the parental involvement in practices I can get. In our prior season we routinely had 5 to 6 adults or varsity players working on small session activities with our players. I will endeavor to utilize these resources in a manner consistent with good management and our team goals for training.

I will utilize varsity players from Jackson Northwest and Jackson Public schools to help provide variety and depth to our practices. Our goalies will occasionally work with Logan Brasic (NW Varsity Goalie, Vogelsinger Goalie Camp Alumni, USSF Certified Referee ) and all our players will work with Kody Smith (Jackson Public JV, MSYSA Premier League Player, Vogelsinger Camp Alumni, USSF Certified Referee). I will welcome other Varsity or College players who wish to help and give them meaningful roles at our practices or games.
